Jack Hudson Omenski

Thursday, September 16, I left work early due to increasing contractions. I wasn't too concerned, I just needed to lie down for a while. Well...when I woke up my water broke. Doug was still at work so I called him right away and told him to come home as soon as possible! We checked into the hospital at 6:40pm. Once the nurse got my IV in, they started me on pitocin. This really got my contractions going. About 2:00am, I got epidural and by about 6:00am I was 9 cm dilated! Jack Hudson Omenski was born Friday, September 17, 6:49am. He weighted 8 lbs, 7 oz and was 21 inches long. We were so excited to welcome him to the world! Due to low blood sugar and some trouble breathing, he had to stay in the hospital nursery all day Friday. Saturday he was doing much better and got to spend the day in our room. He had so many visitors! We were discharged on Monday afternoon and were so happy to finally be home! Jack is a week old today and is such a good baby! We are so thrilled to have him in our lives. Such a blessing!

Baby Update!

I have had 3 Dr. appointments in the last week! The first one was last Friday...I found out I was 1 centimeter dilated and that we would plan to induce the week of 9/27. On Monday this week, we had an ultrasound and found out that baby Jack was apx 8 lb, 1 oz! Our last appointment was this afternoon, I am now dilated 2 cm. She decided to strip my membranes to see if we could get things started on their own...we left with a scheduled induction date of 9/24. There is still a chance he could come early, but for sure on 9/24. This last week is going to go by so slow! We are so excited to meet and hold our little (or not so little) Baby Boy! I plan on working a half day on Thursday, 9/23 and we will head to the hospital at 7am Friday morning! So at the most we have only 8 days to go! :)

Labor day weekend!

We started the weekend by going to Purple Power Play on Poyntz Friday night. It was so beautiful out! We stayed and heard the KSU marching band, but it was hard for me to stand too long so we left around 8:30pm. Saturday was the first K-State football game! Doug had a few friends in town to go to the game. I went tailgating and then watched the game from one of the suites--airconditioning and clean bathrooms, need I say more?! I stayed until halftime and then headed back out to meet Doug at the tailgate. Saturday night was pretty low key for me, although I am sure Aggieville was hopping! On Sunday, I just ran around town...Wal-Mart, Mall, Dairy Queen! :) Doug and I watched a lot of Star Wars and took a nap that afternoon. Today we are cleaning and working on our to do list before baby arrives! So far it has been a nice long weekend!
I am 36 weeks today, only 28 days till due date. I have an appointment this Friday, I am hoping my doctor will have more info for us!
